2008 ART ADVENTURE CAMPS
Art Adventure Camp- Ages 6-12; Limit: 20 students; Ratio 1:10; Morning, Afternoon or All Day Options
Note: All Art Activities are at Creative Arts, 25 Woburn St., Reading.
Morning: 8:30 a.m.-noon ($155/wk)
Afternoon: 1:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m. ($185/wk)
All Day: 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. ($295/wk)
It is recommended that students dress for mess or bring a large art shirt to wear. Smocks are available, but still be prepared for mess.
New! Art Show!
Each week will culminate in a student art exhibit creating a display of the students work from the whole week. Feel free to invite family & friends to share in your child's pride! Show times are: 11:30 a.m. – noon for the morning half-day students or 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. for the afternoon and all-day students.
June 23-June 27
Art Adventure Morning: Clay Builders Ages 6-12
Discover how artists created their great works of art. Learn from artists techniques then create art work of your own, inspired by the artists we look at. We will be using a variety of art media to create these pieces.
Art Adventure Afternoon: Big Blue Sky, Deep Blue Sea Ages 6-12
Look up above and down in the water for your inspiration this week. Learn about the sun, moon, stars, clouds, and rainbows. Make cool things that fly like birds, airplanes, rockets, and bugs. Create underwater creatures, whales, fish and more!
June 30-July 3 (No Camp July 4th)
Art Adventure Morning: Art Detective Ages 6-12
Discover how artists created their great works of art. Learn from artists techniques then create art work of your own, inspired by the artists we look at. We will be using a variety of art media to create these pieces.
Art Adventure Afternoon: Cartoons Ages 6-12
Create fun characters and hilarious comic strips in this unique course. Learn the basic techniques for creating a comic strip. Use paper, pencils, markers, inks, and clay. Create a 3D model of your comic character.
July 7-11
Art Adventure Morning: Clay Builders Ages 6-12
Explore the world of clay, air-dry, sculpey, paper clay & more thru one of a kind creatures, tiles & pots. Please be aware pottery may break in the process.
Art Adventure Afternoon: Cave Painting to Picasso Ages 6-12
Explore art through the ages. We will explore different art periods and artists ranging from The Cave Painting in the Hall of Bulls to Monet and Edward Hopper. Students will use paint, clay, sculptural materials and more in this exploration of the arts class.
July 14-18
Art Adventure Morning: Mixing It Up Ages 6-12
Experience the many possibilities of arts and crafts. Experiment with a variety of materials and techniques including tie-dyeing, marbling, candle-making, printmaking, sculpting and papermaking.
Art Adventure Afternoon: Sculpture Ages 6-12
Clay, wood, papier-mache and plaster. Learn how to represent ideas three dimensionally and create sculptural pieces using various mediums. Learn about structure, armature and how to create unique forms.
July 21-25
Art Adventure Morning: Cartoons 2 Ages 6-12

Art Adventure Morning: Art Smart Ages 6-12
Come and join us for an exciting week of art and learn the basics of all different types of art techniques. Learn drawing, painting, sculpture and more in thus fun filled week.
Art Adventure Afternoon: Clay Builders Ages 6-12
Explore the world of clay, air-dry, sculpey, paper clay & more through one-of-a-kind creatures, tiles & pots. Please be aware pottery may break in the process.
August 4-8
Art Adventure Morning: Outdoor Art Ages 6-12
Investigate the methods used to create realistic images! Learn about perspective, proportion, light, shading and texture. Use master drawings and paintings as inspiration for your art. Use exciting materials like charcoals, ink, pastels, watercolors and acrylics.
Art Adventure Afternoon: Mixing It Up 2 Ages 6-12
Experiment with a variety of craft techniques in an artful way. Work with paint, plaster, and wood to create a one of a kind handmade book, masks, marbled papers and sculptures.
