Homeschool Art Academy Ages 6-12
Explore 2D & 3D media by learning the principles of art and design through drawing, painting, sculpting and mixed-media projects. Different artists and artwork are discussed to teach art appreciation and encourage inspiration and self expression. Informal critiques are held to encourage the creative process. An exhibition of completed projects is held on the last day of class.

Creative Buffet Ages 3-5
Experiment with different media and materials while learning basic art and design principles. Through imaginative projects designed to promote creativity, self awareness and expression, students explore a variety of 2D and 3D techniques including drawing, painting, collage and sculpture.

Drawing 101 Ages 4-6
Improve observation and investigation skills through the art of drawing! Translate 3D images to 2D drawings by exploring perspective, line, shape, gesture, proportion and examining works by prominent artists.

Mixed-Bag Media Ages 5-7
Mixed media combines traditional media (ink, charcoal or pencil, paint, clay) with collage or 3D designs to create unique artwork. It's a great opportunity to experiment with a variety of techniques and materials to stimulate creativity and self expression. Students work with paint, plaster, wood, different papers, etc. to create engaging and fun projects.

Painting 101 Ages 7-9
Learning to paint is more than simply placing a brush on paper! In this class students are exposed to different paint mediums, styles and artists through amusing and creative projects. With an introduction to color theory, students also learn to mix and create different colors – a technique extremely important for any artist to master!

Manga for Kids Ages 8-11
Perfect for students who enjoy the style of Japanese comic illustration. Along with learning Manga style, students also study comic book elements like creating story & splash boards, writing & story development, illustrating facial expressions, action & movement and understanding character development. This class is ideal for students with vivid imaginations that enjoy illustrating and writing stories.

Pottery for Kids Ages 8-12
Coil, pinch, slab, roll and press! Unleash your creativity by sculpting, shaping and molding clay! Students explore clay using different tools, hand building techniques and glazes. Pottery wheel demonstration included. Please note pottery may break during the kiln firing process. What will you create? Some weeks may include air-dry clay and/or other forms of pottery.

Sculpture Ages 11-15
Think in 3D! Students build and create artwork using the elements of sculpture: subtraction, substitution, addition, and manipulation while exploring different themes: light & shadow, use of space, recycled elements, kinetic vs stabile, architectural and environmental. Perfect for students who enjoy working with their hands or are interested in building/constructing.

Drawing & Painting Studio Ages 12+
Perfect for students interested in learning or perfecting painting and drawing skills! Students work on several fun and imaginative projects to learn drawing concepts like line, contour, value and perspective amongst other skills. Painting builds upon drawing skills with the introduction of color theory and exposure to different mediums.

Manga Illustration for Teens Teens 12-18
Students build on basic or advanced drawing skills to create Manga style illustrations and short-story comics. Students also learn to create comic book elements like creating story & splash boards, writing & story development, illustrating facial expressions, action/movement and understanding character development. This class is perfect for students that enjoy illustrating and writing stories in a fun and open atmosphere. Be prepared to draw!

But I Can't Draw! . . . with YOGA! (Adult) Adults & Teens 16+ (art portfolio class)
Perfect for beginner through advanced students! Begin with drawing techniques such as contour, line, gesture, value, figure drawing and composition while working from observation. This class incorporates yoga stretch breaks to relax, re-center and hone focus to stimulate the creative process. Individual studio plans are tailored for returning students wanting to work independently from general class assignments.

Wheel Throwing (Pottery) Adults & Teens 16+
Center! Open! Pull! Trim! Glaze! Learn or improve using the wheel to create functional or abstract pottery. Explore the benefits of creative expression by sculpting, shaping and molding clay while meeting others in a relaxed atmosphere. Please note pottery may break in the firing process.

Have an up coming Art Show? Preparing a portfolio? Want to work on specific art skills?
Then one-on-one art lessons might just be for you. Lessons are scheduled with the art teacher and are six week sessions.
Some supplies provided.
Date & time to be arranged with instructor. Private lessons in low fire pottery/clay, drawing (pencil, ink, pastel, chalk) and painting (acrylic, oil, water color).
Tuition: 30 min. $195, 45 min.$283, 1 Hour $378 (6 sessions)
