NEW!! . . . COMMUNITY ARTS FESTIVAL

Saturday, October 2, 2010, 11am-4pm

Help us spread the word! Print the Community Arts Festival flyer and share it with your neighbors, family, co-workers & friends!

The Community Arts Festival will be on Saturday, October 2, 2010. It is free, open to the public and will be a great opportunity for the community to come together to see and interact with the vast arts & cultural resources available to them. The activities run from 11am - 4pm, and incorporate something for all ages, including demonstrations, free sample classes, give-aways, raffles/drawings, dance performances, musical performances, arts & crafts sales, volunteer information, and the list goes on! (The schedule of performances will be posted on-line on Friday.)

Participants include:

BOOTHS ARE STILL AVAILABLE! Other cultural, arts or community groups are encouraged to participate! Sponsorships and vendor booth opportunities are also available for local businesses. Download your participation form here!

Volunteers are needed to help in the planning and to help with day-of activities. Anyone interested in participating should contact Creative Arts at info@WeTeachCreativeArts.org or 781-942-9600.

Special thanks to sponsors: Reading Co-operative Bank, The Celebration Trust Fund, Rita & Nelson Burbank, Dr. Mickey & Associates, Reading Community TV (RCTV), Burbank YMCA, Colonial Chorus Players, Reading Internal Medicine Associates, and the First Congregational Church, Reading.

Research (www.artsusa.org) shows that the arts create a strong community and that artistically rich regions produce motivated, well-rounded students. As stated in Creativity Matters: The Arts and Aging Toolkit, “The arts contribute to communicating, building a sense of identity, preserving or restoring capital, and strengthening social networks in communities.”

See you on Saturday, October 2nd at the Community Arts Festival!
