2008 MINI ART CAMPS

Mini Art Camp - Ages 3-6; ALL students MUST be potty-trained; Limit: 10 students; Ratio 1:5; MORNING OPTION ONLY
Note: All Art Activities are at Creative Arts, 25 Woburn St., Reading.
Morning: 8:30 a.m.-noon ($155/wk)

It is recommended that students dress for mess or bring a large art shirt to wear. Smocks are available, but still be prepared for mess.


New! Art Show!
Each week will culminate in a student art exhibit creating a display of the students work from the whole week. Feel free to invite family & friends to share in your child's pride! Show times are: 11:30 a.m. – noon for the morning half-day students or 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. for the afternoon and all-day students.



June 30-July 3 (No Camp July 4th)
Mini Art: Art Detectives
Ages 3-6
Discover how artists created their great works of art. Learn from artists techniques then create art work of your own, inspired by the artists we look at. We will be using a variety of art media to create these pieces.

July 7-11
Mini Art: Art Smart
Ages 3-6
Come and join us for an exciting week of art and learn the basics of all different types of art techniques. Learn drawing, painting, sculpture and more in thus fun filled week.

July 14-18
Mini Art: Mixing It Up
Ages 3-6
Experience the many possibilities of arts and crafts. Experiment with a variety of materials and techniques including tie-dyeing, marbling, candle-making, printmaking, sculpting and papermaking.

July 21-25
Mini Art: Cartoons
Ages 3-6
Create fun characters and hilarious comic strips in this unique course. Learn the basic techniques for creating a comic strip. Use paper, pencils, markers, inks and clay. Create a 3D model of your comic character.

July 28-August 1
Mini Art: Nature Art
Ages 3-6
Discover all the wonderful things nature has to offer in this class. Students will create projects based on nature. Some of the projects will even be created from what we find outside.

August 4-8
Mini Art: Cave Painting to Picasso
Ages 3-6
Explore art through the ages. We will explore different art periods and artists ranging from The Cave Painting in the Hall of Bulls to Monet and Edward Hopper. Students will use paint, clay, sculptural materials and more in this exploration of the arts class.

August 11-15
Mini Art: Great Artists
Ages 3-6
Create, learn and have fun through the history of art. Try painting like Van Gogh, sculpting like Olanberg, or making a collage like Mattise. Look at different artists and see how and why they created their works. Have fun with a variety of materials.

August 18-22
Mini Art: 3D Art
Ages 3-6
This class offers students a chance to learn about traditional drawing and three dimensional arts. The class will learn basic drawing skills, then use their drawings a basis for more sculptural works. Students will learn planning skills and get to see their 2D work pop into the real world. We will use a variety of materials such as colored pencil, charcoal, pastel, paint, clay and plaster.
