2011 MINI-MASTERS ART CAMPS
Mini-Masters Art Camp - Ages 3-5; ALL students MUST be potty-trained; Limit: 10 students; Ratio 1:5; MORNING OPTION ONLY. (stay tuned for afternoon care options) Each camp is one week long, M-F, with an art show on Friday. Camp themes change weekly and are age-specific.
Note: All Art Activities are at Creative Arts, 25 Woburn St., Reading.
Morning: 8:30 a.m.-noon ($155/wk + Family Registration Fee*)
It is recommended that students dress for mess or bring a large art shirt to wear. Smocks are available, but still be prepared for mess.
Art Show!
Each week will culminate in a student art exhibit creating a display of the students work from the whole week. Feel free to invite family & friends to share in your child's pride! Show times are: 11:30 a.m. – noon for the morning students.
Session I: July 11 - 15 with Nedret Andre
Mini-Masters Art Camp: People, Places & Things
Children use imaginative artistic projects to interpret the world around them. From creating cities to drawing each other, students explore different mediums and materials from pencils and paint to collage and clay. Children's books, songs, games and music are also incorporated into camp. Art show on the last day, so remember to dress for the mess!
Session II: July 18 - 22 with Nedret Andre
Mini-Masters Art Camp: Story Book Art
Follow the tales and artistic styles of Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle, Maurice Sendak, Beatrix Potter, Marc Brown and many more. Create story-inspired artwork after reading favorite children's stories while learning to work with different media. Songs, games and music are also incorporated into camp. Art show on the last day, so remember to dress for the mess!
Session III: July 25 –29 with Jamie McDonough
Mini-Masters Art Camp: Mixed-Bag Media
This camp takes mixed-media art to a new level! Experiment with different media, materials, methods and designs to create unique projects. Design color patterns by tye-dying a shirt, build costumes and sculptures, and paint masterpieces. Bring a T-shirt to tie-dye and dress for the mess. Art show on the last day of camp.
Session IV: August 1 - 5 with Jamie McDonough
Mini-Masters Art Camp: Puppets, Puppets, Puppets!
It’s a puppet world! Learn about different types of puppets and make several of your own. Create unique characters to explore imagination, self expression and encourage creative play. Children’s books, songs, games and music are also incorporated into camp. Puppet show on the last day of camp. Please remember to dress for the mess!

Fees/Discounts
*The Family Registration Fee is $15 per family for the summer and is non-refundable. There is a multiple camp/family discount of $5 off for each full-week summer camp registration after the first camp.
