Classical Chamber Ensembles

Playing in an ensemble is a great way to enhance your musical interests and abilities in a group setting while improving listening skills and musicality. Classical Chamber Ensembles consist of three to five string instruments and will be coached bi-weekly. CAK staff will form ensembles based on instrumentation and ability. Several groups will be arranged according to participation. Minimum enrollment: 4

Suzuki Violin/Viola Group

The Suzuki Violin/Viola Group is held on select Tuesdays beginning October 6th at 6:30pm. Suzuki string groups are often asked to perform at community and special events throughout the year.

An ensemble experience that enables students to share & explore the sounds & structure of both traditional & unconventional instruments while being exposed to a diverse musical repertoire. Suzuki Parent Class
This 6-week introductory parent program is required for families of beginning Suzuki students. Team-taught by the Suzuki faculty, the class topics include the philosophy and history of Suzuki Talent Education, the parent's role, choosing a musical instrument, tuning, care of instruments, practice and motivation. Parents receive literature and participate in group discussions.
60 minutes / Dates TBA, will start first week of October / $115/$120
I Want to Know More: Survey of Music History
Instructor: Brent Erstad
This is an eight-week survey of Western Art Music extending from the dawn of musical literacy to the present. Throughout the course, we will strive to focus not only on the relevant composers and compositions of the given period, but also on the social, cultural and economic forces that shaped them-always endeavoring to answer the question 'why?'. One session will be dedicated to each of the seven major movements in music history, with the final class reserved for a special topic of the class's choosing. The class meets on select Wednesday evenings, 7:30-8:30pm.
