Current Happenings
Student Performances (Music & Theatre) Student Performance Nights are designed to be a low-pressure opportunity for students to play in front of a receptive audience. They are also an opportunity for audience members to learn how to quietly and patiently sit through a live performance. A light reception follows each Student Performance Night. Students should talk to their teacher before signing up to perform. Student Performance Nights for the 2007-2008 School Year: October 19, 2007 November 16, 2007 December 14, 2007 February 8, 2008 March 8, 2008 (Perform-a-thon, check the office for times) April 11, 2008 All of the above Student Performance Nights begin at 7pm and are free and open to the public. Additional performances include: Winter Concert on January 18, 2008 - Select students from each students are invited to perform at this concert. All Suzuki groups and other ensembles are also invited to play. Perform-a-thon on March 8, 2008 - A day of music to raise funds for new programming, instrument upkeep, technology and financial aid. Student Recitals in May 2008 - Each faculty member has a year end recital for their full studio. Check in the office or with your instructor for your specific recital date. Spring Arts Night - date/time/location TBA - Select students are invited to perform at this end-of-year event. Students are also encouraged to participate in Open Houses, at fundraisers, and in other community events. |
